Julie Longson MCSP SRP AACP
Julie qualified in 1994 from Manchester Victoria University and began working in the NHS starting at Salford Royal Hospital and later moving to South Manchester University Hospital Trust. After general rotations, she specialised as an out- patient Physiotherapist in 1997 progressing clinically to Team Leader in MSK services. She has gained expertise in musculoskeletal therapy through validated courses such as Cyriax Orthopaedic Medicine, Mulligan, Maitland with MACP and specialised courses in AACP acupuncture for pain relief.Julie has been involved in research both independently and with consultant lead clinical trials particularly with a bias towards ankle/ lower limb dysfunction and subsequent rehabilitation. She gained a Masters Degree in Manual Therapy in 2006 and is committed to evidence based practice within her professional work.Outside of work , Julie is a keen hill walker and enjoys water sports and travel. She supports Manchester based charities such as Barnabus and CGL and volunteers when she can.
